The 2012 Jumbos opened the season with a 5-2 loss at Middlebury, but they went undefeated for the rest of the regular season, posting 13 consecutive wins. Tufts put together a four-game shutout streak midway through the run. A sixth shutout of the season, a 2-0 win over Wesleyan, moved the Jumbos to the NESCAC semifinals where they lost to Bowdoin 2-0. From there, Tufts won five consecutive games in the NCAA tournament, starting with an 8-0 win over Castleton. A win at William Smith followed by a 2-1 win over Bowdoin to avenge the NESCAC tournament loss moved the Jumbos to the semifinals. A 2-0 win over DePauw put Tufts in the finals, and there they defeated Montclair State to win the NCAA title. Emily Cannon, Maggie Chapman, and Lia Sagerman earned All-American honors.
