The 2008 Jumbos opened with a 21-2 aggregate score in their first three games, setting the stage for the rest of the season. Behind All-Americans Margi Scholtes, Tamara Brown, and Amanda Roberts, the Jumbos cruised through the regular season, finishing 14-0, culminating with a 4-3 win over Bowdoin on the road, giving Tufts the NESCAC regular season title. A win over Colby was followed by an overtime win over Trinity—the second OT win over the Bantams that season—and moved Tufts into the final against Bowdoin. The Jumbos fell in the final, their first loss of the season, but still earned the #4 seed in NCAAs. A pair of wins at home sent Tufts to the semifinals, where they defeated #1 Messiah 5-2 to advance to the final. There, they lost in double overtime to Bowdoin in the rubber match of the season.
