The 2004 Sea Gulls ran off 19 consecutive goals to start the season, starting 4-0 before a 9-2 win over Eastern Mennonite broke the shutout streak. Salisbury continued its win streak, however, and over the next seven games posted five more shutouts, outscoring their opponents 37-3. Four more wins followed to close out the regular season with a perfect 16-0. In the CAC tournament, the Sea Gulls won by a combined 10-0 and entered the NCAA tournament with a perfect record. Salisbury won the first two games of the championship by a combined 11-2 before needing overtime to defeat William Smith in the semifinals. In the championship game the Sea Gulls defeated Middlebury 6-3 to claim a second consecutive NCAA title. Erin Budd, Brittany Elliott, Melissa Webster and Tracey Lloyd earned All-American honors.
