The 2018 Panthers opened up the season with 21 consecutive goals, winning their first three games of the season by shutout. A 5-4 win over Amherst broke the shutout streak but kept the winning going and ten more wins followed before a loss at Williams in the regular season finale gave the Panthers a 14-1 record entering the NESCAC tournament. A 5-2 win in the quarters followed by consecutive 1-0 wins at home gave Midd the #3 seed in the NCAA tournament with a 17-1 record. Two more wins at home brought the Panthers to the NCAA semifinals, where they handed #2 Rowan their first loss of the season with a 4-2 victory. In the final against NESCAC rival Tufts, Middlebury beat the Jumbos for the third time that season, and in their second meeting in a final, for the NCAA championship. Erin Nicholas was named National Player of the Year while Grace Jennings and Marissa Baker joined her on the All-American team.
