The 1985 Huskies opened up with a string of five games in which they scored four goals or more in each contest, shutting out the first three opponents. Over the next ten games, Bloom shut out eight opponents to push their record to 15-0 with an aggregate score of 57-7 at the conclusion of the regular season. After Shippensburg won a strokeoff in the next contest, Bloom beat Kutztown to move into the NCAA tournament as a regional host. The Huskies won the regional and advanced to the semifinal, where they lost to eventual champion TCNJ 1-0. They defeated Drew to take third place. Karen Hertzler was named National Player of the Year and was named an All-American along with Donna Graup and Carla Shearer.
