AIAW Runners-Up
The 1977 Bears opened up the season with a 2-2 tie against Delaware, but responded with four straight shutouts, outscoring opponents 12-0. A loss to Lock Haven snapped the run, but Ursinus went 7-1 the rest of the way, losing only to West Chester to end the regular season 11-2-1. In the regional tournament, the Bears won three to advance to the final, where they tied West Chester 2-2. As the second seed in the AIAW tournament, Ursinus ran to the finals, winning three games in a shutout, posting a 9-0 scoreline in the tournament. A 1-0 loss to West Chester ended their season for the third consecutive year in the national championship game against the Rams.
