NCAA Champions

The 2011 Terps opened with a pair of wins before a loss at ODU dropped them to 2-1. A nine-game win streak followed before a second loss to ODU again stopped the run. Maryland sandwiched a pair of two-game runs around a loss to UNC to end the regular season at 15-3. Duke beat Maryland in the ACC tournament semifinals, which meant the Terps came into the NCAA tournament unranked after a 15-4 record. Maryland, however, did host the first two rounds where they beat Iowa and #3 Syracuse in overtime. In the semifinals, the Terps beat ODU 4-0 after losing to the Lady Monarchs twice in the regular season. Honda Award winner Megan Frazer and fellow All-Americans Jemma Buckley and Jill Witmer led Maryland as the Terps knocked off top-seed UNC in overtime in the final.
