The 2010 Terrapins opened with an eight-game winning streak before a loss to Princeton on the road ended the run. Undaunted, Maryland won its next nine games, blazing through the rest of the year, sweeping the ACC regular season crown. A double overtime win over Wake was followed by a second win over UNC and gave the Terps the ACC tournament title. Led by four-time first-team All-American senior Katie O’Donnell and All-Americans Megan Frazier, Jill Witmer and Jemma Buckley, the Terps posted a 10-1 record against NCAA-bound teams. In NCAAs, they won a pair of games at home and as the host of the finals, they won their semifinal match to set up a third meeting with UNC, who they beat in OT for the NCAA title. They scored at least two goals in every game and scored three or more in all but two of their 24 games despite facing the nation’s toughest schedule. O’Donnell repeated at the Honda Award winner at the conclusion of the season.
